First Two Weeks in October: Hill Towns - Includes the area south and west of the greater Albany area in the Heldergbergs. Main roads include NY 443, NY 143, NY 20 and NY 7. Great Sacandaga - Includes, but not limited to, the Great Sacandaga Lake and points west to Dolgeville. Main roads include NY 30, NY 29 and NY 10. North Country - This is the northernmost portion of the Capital/Saratoga Region, comprising the area east of Glens Falls and Lake George. Main roads include US 4, NY 22, and NY 196. Border Areas - This is the area that borders Vermont and Massachusettes. Main road is NY 22 (although a number of east-west roads traverse this section).
Second and Third Weeks in October: Capital District - This includes the cities of Albany, Schenectady and Troy. Secondary roads are recommended for foliage viewing in this section of the Capital/Saratoga Region. Hudson River (North) - Includes both the Hudson River and the immediate area in surrounding hills. Main roads include US 4, NY 40, NY 29 and NY 67.
